TunaTone Pickup

The latest in the suite of custom hardware, this single coil pickup offers a pole-less design that results in a robust, relaxed, warm, balanced and velvety tone. The Teeny Tuna is available with single and dual pickup configurations. This pickup design is based on the Roadhouse Pickups Duo Mar with permission and was prototyped in collaboration with James of Roadhouse Guitars.

Palm Vibrato

Designed in collaboration with Max Heidemann, the Palm Vibrato was engineered specifically for the TeenyTuna as an exploration of an ergonomic answer to the typical vibrato bar. The Palm Vibrato features a palm actuator and an on-the-fly locking mechanism that instantly turns the unit into a hard tail if desired.

Custom Stainless Steel Hardware

Every TunaTone features a custom designed and made neck plate to match the specific curves of the instruments body. Every hard tail guitar also comes with a custom tail piece.

Hand Carved Blade Bridge

An example of Leila’s fascination with simplicity and function, this blade bridge is a distillation of the function of the bridge to its most fundamental parts. Similar to an acousitc guitar saddle, this bridge is hand carved to the intonation point for each string. The bridge is height adjustable for action adjustments via a simple allan key.

Captured Nut

Designed by her mentor Dion James, every TunaTone instrument features a friction fit captured nut that is bound by the fretboard on all sides. This photo also highlights the TunaTone custom made brass string retainer and headstock badge.
